Comfort Keepers is widely recognized as a leading provider of quality in-home care to seniors and other clients who need help with the activities of daily living. Our goal is to enrich the lives of our clients as we enable them to maintain the highest possible level of independent living in their own home for as long as possible.

The special people who deliver our unique brand of in-home care, who we call Comfort Keepers, are carefully selected, screened and trained to provide professional, compassionate care.

Interactive Caregiving™—our distinctive approach to in-home care—is at the very heart of Comfort Keepers®.

Our dedicated caregivers, the special people we call Comfort Keepers®, transform day-to-day caregiving into opportunities for meaningful conversation and activities that engage and enrich the lives of seniors physically, mentally, socially and emotionally.

This practice of Interactive Caregiving can contribute to longer, healthier, more purposeful lives for seniors—a fact proven by many research studies that point to the health benefits of active living in later life.

For maximum effectiveness, Comfort Keepers tailor Interactive Caregiving to the personality and unique interests and abilities of each senior client.

Interactive Caregiving may, for example, include walks in the neighborhood or dancing to music; working together on household chores; discussing current events or personal interests; reminiscing while viewing photo albums; working on hobbies, puzzles or crafts; and going shopping or to church, senior center or civic group activities.

 about Comfort Keepers

The Comfort Keepers® story began in 1997 when Kris Clum, a registered nurse working in home health care, discovered first hand the need for someone to assist her patients with their non-medical needs. As a nurse, she was allowed only to tend to their medical, or skilled care, needs.

Sometimes her patients would request something as simple as having a loaf of bread or quart of milk delivered—or to have someone spend just a few minutes in conversation to brighten their day.

Kris and her entrepreneurial husband, Jerry Clum Jr., knew they could provide a solution.

Today, that solution is known as Comfort Keepers. Comfort Keepers provides non-medical, in-home care services to thousands of people by way of more than 600 franchised offices in the United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

The Comfort Keepers franchise system is comprised of a network of caring individuals committed to providing comforting care solutions that enable seniors and others to live safely, happily and independently at home.

Many of our current location owners came to Comfort Keepers as a result of their own experiences of caring for a loved one and discovering the tremendous difference that in-home care makes in the quality of a senior’s life.
